With company sales of over $17 billion and coatings sales of greater than $7 billion, Akzo Nobel, nv, based in The Netherlands, is the world’s largest coatings manufacturer.  Akzo Nobel engaged Grace Matthews to assist it in executing an acquisition strategy to enhance Akzo’s position in the U.S. wood care market.

Grace Matthews was ultimately successful in acquiring one of the leading independent U.S. wood care businesses, The Flood Company.  By being flexible in the process, and respectful of the Seller’s needs, we were able to enter into an exclusive negotiation and consummate a transaction with Flood, which had been privately-held for over 160 years.
