Headquartered in Bellwood, Illinois, and with locations throughout the United States and Canada, Universal Form Clamp (UFC) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of concrete formwork products and accessories.  Founded in 1976, UFC has grown rapidly in recent years because of its broad product line and nationwide reputation for outstanding customer service.

The owners of UFC engaged Grace Matthews to run a competitive process to find an equity partner that would continue to fund the Company’s aggressive growth.   The goal of the process was not only to maximize value for the shareholders, but also to find the right partner for UFC and its employees, which would allow the current owners to maintain an ownership position and remain active in the ongoing operations of the business.

Grace Matthews advised UFC in its eventual sale to Universal Building Products, backed by J.H. Whitney, a leading private equity investor.
